Erratum

In the article published by Y. Li et al., in Toxicologic Pathology, Vol 35(7), pp. 942–951, titled "Differential Tumor Biology Effects of Double-Initiation in a Mouse Skin Chemical Carcinogenesis Model Comparing Wild Type versus Protein Kinase Cepsilon Overexpression Mice," an incorrect figure (Figure 7) was included at publication that does not belong to the authors; however, the figure legend for Figure 7 is correct as published. The correct Figure 7 for Li et al. is shown below.

Figure 7 Cell turnover kinetics in interfollicular and follicular epidermis after 1x DMBA and chronic TPA treatments. (A) Wild type mouse interfollicular and follicular epidermis. (B) PKC{varepsilon}-Tg mouse interfollicular and follicular epidermis. Mice were treated as described in the Materials and Methods (Long Term Single-Initiation Protocols). Mouse skin was treated with 18T or 40T (T: TPA), and fixed in Karnovsky’s fixative, embedded in EMbed 812 resin, and stained with toluidine blue. 500 cells from interfollicular or follicular epidermis, respectively, were counted and % mitosis and % apoptosis were calculated. Each value represents the ratio of % mitosis/% apoptosis. Results are expressed as mean of ratio ± SEM (n = 3 per time point per genotype).

*: p ≤ 0.05, interfollicular vs. follicular epidermis within the same genotype.

#: p ≤ 0.05, wild type vs. PKC{varepsilon}-Tg at matched skin niches and time points.
